Baseball Bat Rules

Bat Rules (Effective Jan. 1, 2018)

The Pony Baseball Board of Directors approved changes to the rules to implement new baseball bat standards in 2018.

Beginning in 2018, bats that have a drop of more than 3 (-4, -5, -6, etc) must be YBBCOR approved and have the YBBCOR Stamp, commonly referred to as the "USA Bat Standard".  YBBCOR/USA Bat certified bats will be available after September 1, 2017.
This rule change will affect Pony 14u Divisions and younger.

This means that sporting goods stores and manufacturers most likely will be deeply discounting their current inventories of these types of bats.  While the bats may be deeply discounted and appear to be "good deals", they will not be usable in 2018 or beyond, so you should think twice before buying them this year.  This rule change was done in unison with other members of USA Baseball.

The new USA Bat Logo sticker will look like this:

Please be advised that, effective immediately, the bat identified as the Easton Ghost X YBB18GX10 30/20 2 5/8” (or the “Easton Ghost X 30/20 5/8” at retail) has been de-certified by USA Baseball and is no longer an approved bat under the USABat Standard. This applies to the 30-inch drop 10 variation of the Easton Ghost X only. At the time of this de-certification notice, all other lengths and drops of the Easton Ghost X bat remain approved for play.

The Easton Ghost X YBB18GX10 30/20 is pictured below:
